The functions and principles of high-speed fishbone and herringbone panel slotting machines are as follows:
Function
* Achieving specialized joining effects:
By performing slotting on flooring, wall panels, and other panels, these machines enable unique joining methods such as fishbone or herringbone configurations. This meets diverse decorative requirements and style preferences, enhancing both aesthetic appeal and personalized design.
* Enhanced joint stability:
The mortise structure formed after slotting tightly engages with the tenon, strengthening the connection between panels. This results in more secure joints that resist loosening or displacement, thereby improving overall structural stability and service life. Particularly suitable for underfloor heating systems and high-traffic areas.
* Enhanced Processing Efficiency:
The system employs automated workflows including automatic material feeding, longitudinal slotting with sawing, fishbone slotting, automated unloading, plate flipping, and automated palletizing. Critical components such as high-precision ball screw drives and Taiwan-made chip-scraping linear guides are used at key stages, ensuring both machining accuracy and speed. This significantly boosts production efficiency while reducing labor costs.

Principle
* Mechanical Structure and Power Transmission:
The slotting machine is primarily composed of a frame, transmission system, cutting system, and control system. The power supplied by the motor is transmitted to the cutting system through the transmission system, such as drive shafts, chains, and gears, enabling the cutting tool to achieve high-speed rotation and providing the necessary power support for slotting.
* Tool Rotation and Feed Motion:
The cutting tool in the system rotates at high speed while advancing along guide rails and other orientation devices to create the desired groove profile on the sheet metal. The tool's rotational speed and feed rate can be precisely adjusted via the control system to accommodate varying material properties and groove specifications.
Fixation and Positioning of Plates:
During processing, plates must be securely mounted on the workbench or conveying system to maintain stable positioning throughout slotting operations. Positioning devices and control systems enable precise regulation of plate feed rates and machining positions, ensuring accurate slotting performance.
Automated Control System:
Modern high-speed fishbone assembly and herringbone slotting machines are typically equipped with advanced automated control systems, including PLC programmable controllers and sensors. The control system automatically manages machine operations based on preset programs and parameters, covering sheet material feeding, tool rotation and feed rates, as well as slot depth and angles, thereby achieving full automation and intelligent processing throughout the slotting process.


Advantages

1) The machine has automatic loading of the raw parquet and automatic unloading of the finished parquet, saving labour.
2) It has a high output, capable of producing approximately 300 squares in an 8-hour shift.
3) The machine delivers high precision finished products, with a length error within 0.1mm and an error of only about 0.05mm in the combination of 8 pieces of 45° panels. This greatly improves production efficiency and product quality.
4) Simultaneous cutting of corners, tenons and grooves at both ends from a single base, with adjustable angles of all cutting axes at both ends, high precision and high productivity.
5) Equipped with skip milling function, 4 milling units (forward and reverse), so that the sharp corners of the products are machined without chipping and edge damage.
6) PLC, touch screen, easy to set milling length and angle electronically, touch screen can be set up to 4 languages.
7) The main body is made of castings and high-precision linear guides, manufactured on a 5-axis CNC machining centre, and heat-treated to relieve internal stress by quenching and vibration aging to ensure the strength of the equipment and the precision of workpiece machining. Equipped with 11 servo motors to ensure smooth and precise motion.
8) Guideway lubrication system reduces friction and extends the life of moving parts.
